Currently, it ranks seventh in the EU’s import hierarchy, with potential future EU membership. Key Turkish imports include cars, gold, refined petroleum, chemicals, and machinery. Turkey is also actively engaged in the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, aimed at fostering economic integration across 16 Mediterranean countries, and has signed double taxation treaties.
